AFC Bournemouth completed the permanent signing of defender Alex Jimenez from AC Milan. The club activated the obligation to buy clause in his loan agreement. Jimenez joined Bournemouth on loan in September 2025 and impressed during his time at the Vitality Stadium.
The obligation triggered after Jimenez started and played 86 minutes against Aston Villa on Saturday. This appearance met the clause conditions, which required him to feature prominently in a set percentage of league games.
Bournemouth agreed to a fixed fee of €19.5 million with AC Milan. The deal included €5.3 million in potential add-ons. Jimenez signed a five-and-a-half-year contract that runs until June 2031.
Real Madrid owned 50 percent sell-on rights from Jimenez’s earlier transfer to AC Milan. Clubs split the fixed fee equally. AC Milan received the initial portion of the payment, while both clubs shared the remainder and any add-ons.
The 20-year-old Spanish right-back emerged from Real Madrid’s academy. He made limited senior appearances for AC Milan before the loan move. Jimenez quickly became a regular starter for Bournemouth and contributed to their defensive setup in the Premier League.
The permanent transfer provided Bournemouth with long-term stability at right-back. The club viewed Jimenez as a key addition for future seasons. The move concluded a successful loan period that benefited all parties involved.
