FOOTBALL NEWS: Super Eagles Coach Eric Chelle Submits 19 Conditions For Contract Extension

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle submitted a 19-point list of conditions to the Nigeria Football Federation for the extension of his contract. The Franco-Malian coach presented the detailed demands on January 22, 2026. He sought better facilities, financial terms and greater control over technical matters. Eric Chelle requested a private car in the form of an SUV with a chauffeur and security. In addition, he demanded a house in a well secured environment with 24-hour uninterrupted power supply.

Furthermore, Chelle asked for a furnished office with a projector for analysis. He also requested internet provision and GPS. Moreover, Eric Chelle demanded the supply of proper equipment in accordance with the coach’s demand. The coach sought flight tickets for his wife and two children. He specified business class tickets for himself and his wife while the children travel in economy class.

Eric Chelle insisted that based on opponents, the coach has the right of choice regarding international friendly matches. He also proposed camping programs and to initiate programs for youth development.

Additionally, the Super Eagles head coach requested provision for the coach to travel, watch, monitor and engage players of the national teams abroad. He further asked for provision for the coach to travel to watch the local league to identify potential players that will be integrated into senior national team, U23, U20 and U17 sides. Eric Chelle demanded no interference in team selection and players call up. He also required the NFF to issue a working contract for his staffs.

Chelle insisted that salary needs to be paid on or before the 30th of every month. He requested bonus and allowance as per federation structure. He asked to include his PA in the bonus and allowance structure. In his proposal, he stated, “Proposed salary of $130,000.00 (One hundred and thirty thousand dollars) monthly. The amount included all my technical staffs and PA.” Finally, Eric Chelle called for monthly meeting with all the national team coaches.

The Nigeria Football Federation received the list of conditions and began its review.
