Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate confirmed that a new contract deal was imminent. Consequently, the French international expected to remain at the club. Konate announced the update after recent discussions.
He said “We’ve spoken with the club, we are close to an agreement.” Additionally, the statement confirmed a report from two weeks earlier. As a result, fans anticipated a swift resolution on the extension.
On the same day, Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai revealed there was no real progress on his new contract.
Szoboszlai said “There has been no real progression over new contract. Current one ends in 2028, I’m ready to go every day, every week, and then let’s see what happens.”
Moreover, he added “I love being here, as I’ve said many times. I love the fans and I really like to be here. My family is happy.” However, negotiations remained underway with Liverpool.
