Chelsea fans got some bad news today as midfielder Romeo Lavia will be out for at least a month with a quad injury. He sustained the setback during the Champions League match against Qarabag.
Lavia who joined Chelsea from Southampton in a £53 million deal in 2023 has had injuries that have ruined his Stamford Bridge career so far. The player has missed 88 matches and was never present to play the entire 90 minutes in a Chelsea shirt.
Grade 1 reflects minimal stretching with healing complete in one to two weeks. Grade 2 indicates partial tearing and is more painful and swollen. Recovery may take three to six weeks.
Chelsea face a number of important games without Lavia, who will miss trips to Burnley and Barcelona and a visit by Arsenal. Chelsea usually depend on midfield depth.
