The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, declared that authorities resolved all financial entitlements for Super Eagles players and officials. He made the announcement on Wednesday amid reports of potential player unrest ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 quarter-final.

Dikko addressed concerns directly. He confirmed that President Bola Tinubu approved the complete AFCON 2025 budget on November 14, 2025. The approval aligned the NSC, Nigeria Football Federation, and the team on funding matters.

The NSC chairman explained the payment process. Daily allowances, requested in cash by players, already reached the squad. Match bonuses and other entitlements now undergo final processing through the Ministry of Finance and Central Bank of Nigeria.

Dikko assured timely completion. He stated that players understand exact bonus structures for each tournament stage. The team knows rewards for wins, draws, and progression milestones.

This resolution ends a brief tension period. Reports emerged earlier that some players considered boycotting training and travel to Marrakech for Saturday’s clash against Algeria. Such disputes have historically affected Nigerian football.

The Super Eagles maintain strong form in the tournament hosted in Morocco. Nigeria won all group matches and knockout games so far. The team scored 12 goals while conceding few, demonstrating dominance.
