The Catalan club set aside around €100m in their summer budget to pursue a marquee striker signing.

PSG Revive Previous Interest

Paris Saint-Germain revisited their interest in Osimhen after attempting to sign him during his time at SSC Napoli. According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG saw a €210m bid rejected by Napoli for both Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the summer of 2024. The Parisians targeted the pair to strengthen their squad following Mbappé’s departure on a free transfer to Real Madrid.PSG eventually signed Kvaratskhelia for €70m in January 2025. Galatasaray Face Dilemma Over Star Striker

After firing Galatasaray to a domestic double last season with 37 goals and eight assists in 41 games, Osimhen contributed 19 goals and seven assists in 28 games across all competitions this season.

Galatasaray showed reluctance to lose their star striker. However, reports suggested the club remained aware that interest from Europe’s elite proved difficult to resist. Any deal required a fee between €120m and €140m. This figure shattered every transfer record in Turkish football and comfortably surpassed the €75m Galatasaray paid Napoli to sign Osimhen permanently.
